There's no way back from here, to what they used to be, the world they used to know. Then Em finds a note in her cell which changes everything. "If that's true, you should just tell the police," Finn says.
"They wouldn't believe me!" I say. "And I don't trust them to keep James safe anyway."

"What makes you think someone's after me?" James asks.

"You were shot at!  And Richter's lying about who did it I know he is."

Leave me a link to your teasers!

Fifty years ago the Commander came into power and murdered all who opposed him. In his warped mind, the seven deadly sins were the downfall of society. He created the Hole where sinners are branded according to their sins and might survive a few years. At best.
Now LUST wraps around my neck like blue fingers strangling me. I’ve been accused of a crime I didn’t commit and now the Hole is my new home.

Darkness. Death. Violence. Pain.

Now every day is a fight for survival. But I won’t die. I won’t let them win.

The Hole can’t keep me. The Hole can’t break me.
I am more than my brand. I’m a fighter.
My name is Lexi Hamilton, and this is my story.

Oh My Eff-
Alright, I  finished Branded and adsjnoawefnowianfoinweosfhwaoifn my brains a little scrambled.

I read it in one sitting and oh so many emotions, I feel like I need retail therapy. I'm also re-watching Roswell for the millionth time, so I'm in a LETS HUG mood.
Everyone is a sinner, take me, I bought Branded over a week ago. I've been lusting over the damn cover until I had a free choice read day- no obligation to review. I'm reviewing anyway. Damn you Abi & Missy, I wanted a quick light read, not to be sucked into a world full of desperation, depression and hope, with characters of depth and a deathly romance that kills.
I also have a gluttony for books. Oh, and then there's pesky wrath- I like to throw books across the room if they make me angry) *note, no books were injured during the process of this review*

Stacking the Shelves #2 & Recap.

STSmall
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

Due to the beginning of the Summer Holidays, and the heatwave Wales' been having, I've read a ton this past week. Received three also this week, and I am so freaking excited about them, and I may or may not have squealed like a lunatic when I found them on my dashboard.
Anyway...

Review: INK, DNF'D

INK
Author: Amanda Sun
Publication Date: July 5th, 2013
Source : Received a digital copy via Mira Ink, Harlequin (UK) Limited and Netgalley. (In exchange for an honest review. Thank you!)

Ink is in their blood

On the heels of a family tragedy, Katie Greene must move halfway across the world. Stuck with her aunt in Shizuoka, Japan, Katie feels lost. Alone. She doesn’t know the language, she can barely hold a pair of chopsticks, and she can’t seem to get the hang of taking her shoes off whenever she enters a building.

When Katie meets aloof but gorgeous Tomohiro, the star of the school’s kendo team, she is intrigued by him... and a little scared. His tough attitude seems meant to keep her at a distance, and when they’re near each other, strange things happen. Pens explode. Ink drips from nowhere. And unless Katie is seeing things, drawings
come to life.

Somehow Tomo is connected to the kami, powerful ancient beings who once ruled Japan—and as feelings develop between Katie and Tomo, things begin to spiral out of control. The wrong people are starting to ask questions, and if they discover the truth, no one will be safe.

190 Page Thought Review

Ugh!
I was so so looking forward to this one with such an interesting prose, and it could have been so great.
If it wasn't for the characters.
I have to say, I gave up half way through because I couldn't stand them any longer.

Preview Review: When the World was Flat (and we were in love)

When the World was Flat (And we were in love)
Author: Ingrid Jonach
Publication Date: September 3rd 2013
Source : Received a digital ARC via Angry Robot/Strange Chemistry and Netgalley. (In exchange for an honest review. Thank you!)

Looking back, I wonder if I had an inkling that my life was about to go from ordinary to extraordinary.

When sixteen-year-old Lillie Hart meets the gorgeous and mysterious Tom Windsor-Smith for the first time, it's like fireworks - for her, anyway. Tom looks as if he would be more interested in watching paint dry; as if he is bored by her and by her small Nebraskan town in general.
But as Lillie begins to break down the walls of his seemingly impenetrable exterior, she starts to suspect that he holds the answers to her reoccurring nightmares and to the impossible memories which keep bubbling to the surface of her mind - memories of the two of them, together and in love.
When she at last learns the truth about their connection, Lillie discovers that Tom has been hiding an earth-shattering secret; a secret that is bigger - and much more terrifying and beautiful - than the both of them. She also discovers that once you finally understand that the world is round, there is no way to make it flat again.

 Review
Before I even go into detail... and well, to be a inclusive tease...

WHY.DID.YOU.DO.THAT.TO.ME?
Secondly, look at the pretty cover!
Thirdly, I couldn't stop listening to Amy Hit the Atmosphere- Counting Crows and Begin Again- Measure, while reading.

Fourthly (?) Such an appropriate title.
