This was so hard to choose today, I'm 28% in and have so many highlights, it's a pretty hit or miss story and the way it's written, and I don't know which side I'm on yet, so we'll see.

I hope, also, that they remember none of it would have happened had my mother not turned her back on magic. Or had my mother left me alone in my grandmother's cottage. Or had my mother, drunk on the cult of domesticity and stuffed to the bring with 1860's mortality, not been so determined to see me a proper lady.

So, if the people of my island blame anyone, better her than me.

It was a slow start from me, but such beautiful writing, but it picked up and it's pretty amazing, by the time this is posted I've probably finished it, and it's one of those that you don't want to carry on reading because it means it'll end. :(

Alright, I'm cheating. I finished this Sunday night and haven't started a new one yet, so using this. But, I loved it. It kind of reminded me of Jennifer Rush's Altered series, it's different, but when it came to the characters, they had that...spark, the characters just worked together, they bounced off one another, and that always makes it fun to read. :)

I'm around half way through it so far, and though it did suck me in from that preface- I mean, how could that not? Despite that, it didn't grip me all that much in the beginning, until now, but the writing is beautiful. :)  Scratch that. I just finished it and oh, the feelings.
