Stacking the Shelves (#16) & Recap

How's everyone's week been? Read anything good? Mine started off okay, and kind of veered off somewhere from the middle of the week. But, it's getting better, and apparently we're expecting a 'major Atlantic storm' (not my words), which has already started, and some felting has already come off the roof, and it's going to get worse. Yay, blackout time!
 
So I have a major book this week, which I am seriously so excited about. If you're a fan of the amazing Amy Plum, you probably know she does these Contest Monday's, and, well, I won one two weeks ago...and the prize was...

Inviting Cammie to Boston so watching her father accept the nomination for vice president more less boring, with appearances' and statements she has to do, but things go wrong when up on the roof they get wrapped up into a kidnapping plot. Macey's used to attention, but she doesn't like this. A narrow escape leaves both Macey and Cammie with bruises, a broken bone and a serious head injury, but it also leaves them changed, and everything's quite not the same anymore.

Waiting on Wednesday (#16)

Though I wasn't exactly a fan of Acid (I never finished it) but I think mainly that was because I wasn't in the mood to read it at the time,  so I'll have to retry at another time, but The Fearless sounds awesome.




 
 
The Fearless. An army, powered by an incredible new serum that makes each soldier stronger, sharper, faster than their enemies. Intended as a force for good, the serum has a terrible side-effect - anyone who takes it is stripped of all humanity, empathy, love. And as the Fearless sweep through the country, forcing the serum on anyone in their path, society becomes a living nightmare.

Cass remembers the night they passed through her village. Her father was Altered. Her mother died soon after. All Cass has left is her little brother - and when Jori is snatched by the Fearless and taken to their hellish lair, Cass must risk everything to get him back.

Now I can say I've read all of Cat Patricks, up to this point, and I can honestly say that Just Like Fate is one of her strongest. I can't compare Suzanne Youngs' since I haven't read any of hers yet, but I think that's why this one was so strong.

Usually, when having two different writers, I expect it to feel different when it's the same perspective, and maybe fall apart in some places, but it didn't. Caroline's voice was eerily similar, though different experiences happen, the essence is there, and that was a really good surprise.

Book wise, just one for review and bought some this week (and I was doing so good with the no buying until you read what you got.) but I caved because I need to know what I'm missing out on one of the series'.
