Waiting on Wednesday (#48)

"Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Revenge is a dish best served cold.

Edie Kramer has a score to settle with the beautiful people at Blackbriar Academy. Their cruelty drove her to the brink of despair, and four months ago, she couldn't imagine being strong enough to face her senior year. But thanks to a Faustian compact with the enigmatic Kian, she has the power to make the bullies pay. She's not supposed to think about Kian once the deal is done, but devastating pain burns behind his unearthly beauty, and he's impossible to forget.

In one short summer, her entire life changes, and she sweeps through Blackbriar, prepped to take the beautiful people down from the inside. A whisper here, a look there, and suddenly... bad things are happening. It's a heady rush, seeing her tormentors get what they deserve, but things that seem too good to be true usually are, and soon, the pranks and payback turns from delicious to deadly. Edie is alone in a world teeming with secrets and fiends lurking in the shadows. In this murky morass of devil's bargains, she isn't sure who—or what--she can trust. Not even her own mind...

The first season of Revenge was almost finished when I decided to watch it...and got addicted. So I binged watched it, and then I got withdrawals. And found this book called Heart-Shaped Bruise by  and it ripped my heart out and stabbed it and I loved it. It was the second time I cried over a book (the first being Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). So basically, a revenge based plot? Yes please.

That cover certainly gets your attention! I tried to watch Revenge...it seemed kind of soap opera-ish to me, so I didn't get past the beginning of the first episode. Maybe I should give it another chance.

I'm excited about this book, too. I have enjoyed watching Revenge - my husband is way more obsessed with it than I am, lol. This book just sounds really promising. Great pick!

Looking forward to this too! I really enjoyed Enclave so hoping this will be just as good. Really like the cover as well.
Ooo, I actually got an ARC of this one, which was surprising! I love Aguirre's books, and I cannot wait to read this one. I hope you read and love this book!

I'm right there with you, Mortal Danger is one I'm really looking forward to! Can we just take a moment to admire THAT cover? It's pretty rad! I haven't read an Aguirre novel, but why not start here? Though I have been wanting to read Bronze Gods for a while now. Have you heard about that steampunk series? She writes under A.A. Aguirre. It's a joint effort -- her husband writes with her! I may start with that series while I wait for Mortal Danger instead. Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. :)

I can't wait to read this! I haven't read anything by Ann Aguirre yet! I also loved the first season or two of Revenge, but then I just sort of lost enthusiasm for it.

I've seen this one on other WOW posts. And I know why, because it sounds amazing! :)

I'm freaking excited about this one too!!

Netflix(or any of those evil TV streaming companies) is almost unhealthy in the fact that I can binge watch TV series but then go into a serious withdrawal depression because the show has either ended and so I don't know how to live anymore or I'm waiting on the next season to come out and can't handle the suspense. I just finished watching all three seasons of Veronica Mars and I feel like I've lost a part of me...I'm planning to watch the movie tonight and I'm hoping I will feel like it's more resolved than I do at the moment.
