Feature & Follow (#6)

Feature and Follow Friday is a weekly bloghop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

This weeks Question:

Are there any book to movie adaptations where you think the movie is better than the book?
Okay, you're probably going to shout at me but, I liked The Hunger Games, not because it was better than the book, but because it was just really nice to see all of it come to life. But, since that's not really an answer I'd say Dear John, though I loved the book, I preferred the movie ending that the actual ending in the book. Also, Channing Tatum. Enough said.

What did you pick?

You have such a cool and interesting header! I just had to say that...okay so I wasn't a fan of HG book or movie and I quit watching Nicholas Sparks movies..not because I didn't like them I just can't stand sappy make me want to cry endings..never read his books either..lol.

I agree that sometimes it's fun to see the characters brought to life, I just wish they would stick more to the actual story instead of changing things around. :(

Awh, thank you. :) I really liked them both, but it was my first book I read in that genre. Haha, always sappy endings. I've actually only read and watched both The Last Song and Dear John.

Right? I'm not too bothered by some changes, or cut out co-characters if they're not important to the book, so I guess it depends on what's changed. Thanks for stopping by, I'm following back on bloglovin. :)
Oh I forgot to say I'm a new follower! :)
I think i still prefer the hunger game books to the movie, but there seems to be quite a few people that agree with you today! I just don't seem capable of preferring the movies to the books. :)

I really like both, so it's hard to decide, but I really did love seeing the makeup and dresses and how that was done. Thanks for stopping by! :)

I would say I still prefer the books to those movies, but its been so long since I've read Dear John or saw the movie.

I liked the movie more because of the change and the happy ever after ending. I'm a sucker for them sometimes. ^_^ Thanks for stopping by. :)
Yeah - Channing Tatum :) I haven't read Dear John but loved the movie - even though I cried a ton.

Haha ;) Well, don't read the book, because the ending is very different. I remember I went to see it on the weekend and we watched back to back Dear John & The Lovely Bones. So yeah, that was fun. Not depressing at all. :p
I never watched Dear John. My brother said it was really depressing so I skipped it. New GFC follower. My FF

It was sad, but had a much better ending than the book. :)
I loved the Hunger Games book but I really enjoyed seeing it come to life on film too! I've never read/watched Dear, John but the movie did look good.

Oh, yay! I just loved the colour and the way they did the dresses and makeup. Ah, you should! Skip the book though, though the film is still sad, it's not as depressing as the book. Thanks for stopping by! :)
Channing Tatum is rather yummy! I have to admit that I love The Hunger Games books a lot more than the movie but I really love the movie as well. My F&FF.

Hahaah this is like the 3838383th time I've seen The Hunger Games as an answer! I think they did a pretty good job with the adaptation so its really just based on book/movies preferences.

I was seriously shocked to see so many people picking it. I only read The Hunger Games just before I found out the film was being made. I'd seen the books around, but wasn't really into that genre at the time. But yeah, I think they did do it justice, they didn't ruin it that's for sure. Definitely comes down to preferences. I was made into Of Mice and Men, and while that was pretty boring, but actually one of my favourites, the film was snore for me. Following back via GFC. :)
I saw The Hunger Games with my best friend, and she loathed the movie (probably because she'd just finished reading the book like the day beforehand), whereas I thought they did a decent job, especially in a book that is more inside a person's head than dialogue...y..ish...let's pretend that sentence made sense. And there were certain aspects I did like more - particularly Woody Harrelson's depiction of Haymitch! I wasn't a huge Haymitch fan in the book, I honestly didn't really get him, but Woody Harrelson really brought the character to life for me.

And I haven't read/seen Dear John...but Channing Tatum looks like a blockhead. I used to hate him...but clearly he's not going anywhere, and his acting has improved immensely over the years which makes me respect him quite a bit. So I guess he's not a bad thing anymore...my prejudices are just moving more slowly than my logic haha

I really did like it, but I think with me, while I have an imagination, it's a slow one. I don't see it while I'm reading but after, you know? Don't be mean about Channing :( :p I do admit, sometimes he does look like a blockhead, it's the thick neck. I liked him more in his Step Up days (though I didn't know it was him at the time.) I don't really take no notice of his acting, I just like looking at him. ;) Haha, no, but really, he was pretty good in Dear John. At least, it was better than The Last Song, so I'm not really complaining.
