Unpopular Opinion Tag

Amber Elise @ Du Livre tagged me, Original credit goes to TheBookArcher

Warner...now before you start shouting, I know I'll probably end up loving him, but I've only read Shatter Me, so that's my excuse.

I've now tried three of her books, it's safe to say, it isn't happening.

You're probably thinking what the - now, of course I'm not tired of seeing Alan Carr, because that's not going to happen, but, I am tired of seeing the stereotypical 'camp' gay friend. I mean, it's nice we're seeing more gay characters in YA, even as the main characters, but most YA side gay characters are usually stereotypical. Not all gay guys are 'camp' the same as calling a lesbian 'butch'.

(Sorry Christy)

Well, considering I've tried reading the first book three times and haven't finished it, I think it wins

Ahhh, come on, you know I love The Selection books AND Warner! TEAM WARNER and TEAM THE SELECTION FOREVER :P.

Seriously though, I understand about The Selection, it's not for everyone. BUT I'm convinced that you will switch to Team Warner by the end of the trilogy ;)

Thanks for the tag <3

I am totally convinced I'll switch to Team Warner, especially because of what I've heard, I love complex bad guys. ;)
YESSSS! Thank you for tagging me, I have wanted to do this one SO badly!!! I am with Christy. Warner= YES. And I hated him in Shatter Me as well ;) And ah, I love your hatred for A Thousand Pieces of You! Any chance you'll be reading the next? Bwhahahha. xD

Aha! Now I'm definitely convinced I'll be Team Warner. Haha, uhm, is it bad that I really do want to read it? But, I do want to see if my opinion can be changed And you know, iif it doesn't, it'll give me a nice rant. ;)
I'm totally with you on Warner! But I too have only read the first book. I'm not sure I'll read the next books or not...I liked the writing where Juliet is a little unhinged, but I haaaaaaaaaaaaaated the romance. It was gross. And boring. And is Adam even a person? Like I don't feel like I have a grasp on his character. Adam is quintessential "good guy" and Warner is "psychopathic evil guy that Juliet seems drawn to which I totally don't understand because HELLO JUST BECAUSE HE HAD A BAD CHILDHOOD DOESN'T MAKE HIM LESS EVIL OR PSYCHOPATHIC guy". Just sayin' lol!

Haha! I can't even remember Adam that much except for that he's in it...so that says something there. I did like Warner though (which, I know, is bad) but at least he's memorable, I'm just really all for the psychopathic characters, aren't I? ;)
I'll actually agree with you on one of them. Who can hate Mind Games? Those books are great!

I can get why they didn't like it, but I did love it because of how slightly unhinged it was and how addictive the writing was.I still hated her sister though.
Fun post! I'm really tired of seeing camp gay characters too. Sure, they exist in real life, but we need a broader representation of gay and lesbian characters.

Exactly, there are masculine gay guys as well as there are 'girly girl' lesbians, come on, just because somebody is gay, doesn't meant they're all camp or butch. =/
I'm totally sitting in the same boat for Shatter Me (I just don't think I'd like Warner, either, bad people are bad people), and The Selection!
Historical, I do love, haha.

Thanks for sharing, Kirsty!

Ha! I love Historical as well, but I think it is my least read because of how long it takes me to read them for some reason. :D
Aha, this is a fun tag! Everyone hates Mind Games :O I didn't know this. I have it on my kindle and now I'm curious. *evil laughter* You just wait on Warner. Your time will come. Honestly, if I hadn't already read The Selection I'd stay from away from it now. But it's too late for me, save yourself.

It is completely crazy and Fia's unhinged, but it's so addictive. :) Haha! Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll be switching to Team Warner. Yup, I am saving myself and never going near it. ;)
I agree with you on Shatter Me, and only on Shatter Me lol. I read the book since everyone was raving about how good it was, but I didn't like the book or main character very much and so never ended up finishing the series. I'm so happy the main character in The Girl at Midnight ended up with who she ended up with - I didn't really like the other guy. It din't feel like love...more like they were comfortable with each other.

Aha! The writing style was harder to get into to, but once I got used to it, enjoyed it (but not like, NEED THE NEXT ONE NOW, obviously, since I still haven't finished the series, haha.) Ahhhhh, to be honest, I didn't really like any love interest, though I did like the friend because I do love best friend romances, but then he rather turned out to be a coward and yeah, nope. Still liked him a lot better than the snake dude. :P
I kind of liked Warner's character in Shatter Me LOL his character was kind of disgusting, but I found him fascinating though. I've only read the first book, but I have no real interest to read the others. I don't read historical books either, great answers :)

Haha, I think I'll like him a lot more later on in the series. :)
Eek! This is going to be a hard one!

I like the Mind Games books, tooo! Not love, but definite like! :) I'm so afraid I'm not going to like A Thousand Pieces of You--perhaps that's why I haven't read it!--but it's too pretty not to be good. Too pretty, I tell you!

They were definitely different and crazy! It is so pretty! The character just really rubbed me the wrong way and a major part of the romance made me angry, but it was interesting! :)
I don't like the Shatter Me series at all - I think the character relationships are so problematic. Warner is the worst, I totally get where you're comign from.

I am often the odd man out. I loved Mind Games. I wish the third book would release. I haven't heard anything.
