--------------------------------------------------------------------------

In a world in which baby girls are no longer born naturally, women are bred in schools, trained in the arts of pleasing men until they are ready for the outside world. At graduation, the most highly rated girls become “companions”, permitted to live with their husbands and breed sons until they are no longer useful.

For the girls left behind, the future – as a concubine or a teacher – is grim.

Best friends Freida and Isabel are sure they’ll be chosen as companions – they are among the most highly rated girls in their year.

But as the intensity of final year takes hold, Isabel does the unthinkable and starts to put on weight. ..
And then, into this sealed female environment, the boys arrive, eager to choose a bride.

Freida must fight for her future – even if it means betraying the only friend, the only love, she has ever known…

"But the thing about the monkey was-"
"I'm tired," Isabel cuts across me and the words fizzle in my throat. I always take it a step too far, chastity-Ruth says.

Oh gosh, I've never heard of this book. o.O I am both intrigued and slightly horrified. Is it good?!! (Will you be reviewing it?!)

So far so good, it's really different than I was expecting, especially by the cover. It's pretty heavy stuff. And yup, will be reviewing it. :)
Oh a little creepy for the cover but I'm curious!

Right? I thought it was creepy, and it does reflect the book, but not in a way that's obvious, so it's different than what I was expecting . :)
This book sounds like a brutal Never Let Me Go, which was a heavy book in itself. I am DEFINITELY checking this one out.

Yeah, like a YA version. It's waaaay heavier than I was expecting. Pretty twisted and I really want to rip the head off one of the characters. :D
Great teasers! I've never heard of this book before, but damn does it sound cool! I totally am loving the cover, too! Thanks for sharing, will definitely have to keep my eyes out for this!

I hadn't until a few weeks ago, and was just MINE. Put in a request, didn't think I'd get it but it arrived in the mail, which was a fun surprise. :)
It's actually up on NG now. :)
This sounds fascinating! I added it to my Goodreads to-read list and I very rarely do that!!! I'll try out a sample and see if it pulls me in to download the rest on my Kindle! That's the true test!
