A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.
A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy.
A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive.
A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
True love.
The truth.

We Were Liars is a modern, sophisticated suspense novel from National Book Award finalist and Printz Award honoree E. Lockhart.
Read it.
And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE.

So, I've been wanting to read We Were Liars for ages, but waited. The first time I read it was with the #liarsliveread on twitter, and reactions really are everything. And emotions are everything, and those hours were well spent. We had to post our reactions to certain pages.

We Were Liars is one of those books that everybody has to read, even people who aren't book friendly. It's just one of those, that is mysterious, that looks mysterious, that sounds mysterious, that is mysterious. It'll be one you're curious about, that you'll look at be curious about. When you look at the back, you'll be curious about it. It'll suck you in before you even know what it's about, it'll have you and won't let you go. You won't be sorry. Also, you will be sorry.
It's one of those that once you've read it, you love it. Also, you won't love it. It's one that once read, you will rave and rave about it .Also, you might not rave because you kind of want to keep it for yourself. It's one  that you want to talk about. Also, you can't talk about it. It's one that you'll try to write a review for and it'll end up like this. Because there are no words. There really isn't. To say how amazing and simple this really is. It's not long.  But it's a journey. It's about a family that isn't a family.
It's not a love story. Also, it is a love story.
It's about freedom and growth and discovery and trying to be something other than what's expected of you. It's not easy. It's hard. And it takes a while, but you'll get there. It's just so much more than what it is and all of this probably doesn't make much sense, because it's true, it's one you have to read to understand it. And then you will. Understand it.
With that, I'm going to keep this short because there are not enough words, until you've read it. So, read all the reactions and reviews that literally can't tell you much because then you'll want to know. And our Liars deserve you to know.
