Blog Tour: Don't Even Think About It

Don't Even Think About It

Publication Date: May 1st 2014
Publisher: Orchard Books

This is the story of how we became freaks. It's how a group of I's became a we.

When Class 10B got their flu shots, they expected some side effects. Maybe a sore arm. Maybe a headache. They definitely didn't expect to get telepathy. But suddenly they could hear what everyone was thinking. Their friends. Their teachers. Their parents. Now they all know that Tess has a crush on her best friend, Teddy. That Mackenzie cheated on Cooper. That Nurse Carmichael used to be a stripper. Some of them will thrive. Some of them will break. None of them will ever be the same.

A smart and funny story about friendship, first love and surviving high school from the bestselling author of Ten Things We Shouldn't Have Done.

Welcome to my stop on the Don't Even Think About It blog tour. I have read Don't Even Think About It, and loved it. You can find my review for it on Tuesday, with thanks to the wonderful Books with Bite team. Today, we have a little Q&A with Sarah Mlynowski. #3 totally needs to be a superpower.

    1. What one book do you think everyone should read?

We Were Liars. It’s written by my friend E. Lockhart and it’s incredibly brilliant. Go read it! Right now!

   2. What 3 books are on your bookish bucket list?

Instead of listing War and Peace and Ulysses (which I would like to read, but probably never will) here are three books in my TBR pile that I cannot wait to read in the order I plan on reading them:

  1. Mindy Kaling’s Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?
  2. Beautiful Ruins, by Jess Walter
  3. Meg Wolitzer’s The Ten-Year Nap

     3. If you could, what kind of superpower would you choose and why?

I would fly. Hmm. No, that’s too obvious. I should choose something really unique. Like being able to touch vegetables and turn them into chocolate brownies and salted caramels. Calorie free brownies and salted caramels. With all the health benefits of spinach.

    4. What was your favourite scene in Don't Even Think About It to write and why?

The Espie meetings! I had way too much fun tossing around inappropriate thoughts around like drunken ping-pong balls.

   5. Like the characters in Don't Even Think About It, if you suddenly gained telepathic powers, which celebrity/public figure would you most like to eavesdrop on?

The Queen! Like everyone else in America, I am obsessed with your royal family. What goes through her mind all day? What does she think of Kate? Do her feet hurt? Has she heard the Lorde song Royals and what does she think of it? Inquiring non-telepathic minds would like to know.
