It took me a while to write this, after finishing the novel I waited because I wanted it to sink in properly, I didn't even write notes and I still don't know what to say about it. It's always like that, those books that mean something. I felt like this after reading We Were Liars and I have the same feeling now with The Half Life of Molly Pierce, it's so different and out there and I want to keep it to myself while simultaneously wanting everybody to read it.

How was everybody's week? Mines been okay. and I got a few ones I've been wanting to read since I found out about them. I just finished The Girl from the Well, and although creepy, a little disappointed, and now I'm reading Feral. I'm choosing some real happy books lately. :/

I've certainly have been reading a few mindfuck books lately. But, they're the best kind, they keep you guessing, keep you reading, keep you wondering what the hell is going on and Unwept is no exception. I was so excited when I got approved for it because Tor Teen have published some of my favourite books *cough* Kendare Blake *cough*

Starting with a brutal introduction Unwept takes you on journey that has you following blindly, along with our main character Ellis, who wakes up on a train with no memory of how she got there. Or anything else. Or who she is. Or who anyone is. So when she arrived at this town called Gamin she is utterly confused. So was I.

Only Ever Yours Blog Tour: A Q&A with Louise O'Neill

Firstly, Happy Book Birthday Louise O'Neill, Only Ever Yours is released today and I can honestly say it is one of my favourites of 2014 so far. It's one of those books everyone should read, it's brutally honest and will have you thinking for a while, as it did with me. You can find my review of it here. Thanks to Quercus I also got a chance to do a Q&A with Louise herself, so on with the  show!

 Q&A

1)    Did religion have an effect on the way women are perceived in Only Ever Yours?

      That’s interesting, that’s the second time someone has asked me this question this week. I didn’t consciously decide that religion would be a factor in the way women are perceived in Only Ever Yours, I felt that the world in which the novel is set was much more likely to have been created because our patriarchal society posits that men are far more inherently valuable than women. However, I was raised a Catholic, and attended a convent primary and secondary school. I was extremely devout when I was a child, and I guess it was only with hindsight that I began to think there was something rather strange about being indoctrinated in a religion that presents the ‘ideal woman’ as a mother who has never had sex.

I didn't really like Unbreakable that much, I thought it was okay, but wasn't that impressed with it. Though, I did like Supernatural gif-ing the hell out of my review, that was fun. So why do I want to read Unmarked? Blame Alicia @ Addicted Readers and her creepy gifs status updates when she was reading it. Nightmare, people. Nightmares.
